Quantuma, the restructuring and insolvency specialist, has decided to appoint Ataxia UK as their charity of the year for the next 12 months.
After launching in Southampton in January 2013, Quantuma has grown to six offices and over 60 staff. With such growth the firm wanted to recognise great causes and support a charity of the year.
Ataxia UK was chosen for this year due to personal connections of the Quantuma team with the charity. As a small and relatively unknown charity, Quantuma wants to make a difference in raising much needed funds and awareness of this progressively debilitating condition.
Providing support to people with ataxia, their family and carers, Ataxia UK enable those with the condition to have the highest possible quality of life. They also promote research with the aim of bringing about treatment and a cure for ataxia by 2020. They are striving for a cure in this generation.
Sue Millman, Chief Executive Officer of Ataxia UK said “We are delighted to be working alongside Quantuma over the next year. 2015 marks the 50th anniversary for Ataxia UK, therefore it seems only fitting that this announcement has come at such a significant time in our history. We’re truly looking forward to all the fundraising efforts of the Quantuma staff which will play a vital role in securing funds for the work of the Charity.”
