This Christmas, Ataxia UK has once again teamed up with The Big Give and have secured a match funding pot from which your Christmas donation can be DOUBLED at no extra cost to you!
From noon on Tuesday 27 November until noon on Tuesday 4 December you have the opportunity to double your gift and double the impact you make on the lives of people with ataxia. Donate to our special Ataxia UK page on the Big Give website to double your impact!

Help raise £40,000 to fund Ataxia UK’s first paediatric centres and research programme
Your gift will not only help fund much needed research into treatments and cures for ataxia – but also help fund Ataxia UK’s first accredited NHS Paediatric Centres.
Twenty years ago it was difficult for people to find a high quality service for ataxia patients in the NHS. Ataxia UK’s response was to press for the establishment of centres that specialise in ataxia. In 2018, these Accredited Specialist Ataxia Centres in Sheffield and London were attended by over a quarter of UK adults with ataxia.

We now want to bring about the same transformation in the service provided to children and young people with the establishment of these centres run by a Paediatric Neurologist; providing expertise in the ataxias, access to an ataxia specialist nurse and other services such as speech therapy and physiotherapy. This would speed up diagnosis and ensure that parents and children receive the best possible support and a smooth transition to adult services when the time comes.
