The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2019

Post Published: June 21, 2019

What is it?

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s number one match-funding campaign. This year we aim to raise £68,000 to fund a ground-breaking project: piloting a virtual ataxia clinic. This will work towards making specialist ataxia care more accessible for ataxia patients throughout the country. Candis Magazine will very kindly match our target of £34,000 to help us make this desperately needed goal come true.

Does it work?

Last year, your generosity along with our ‘champion’ donor, The Hospital Saturday Fund, raised an incredible £53,803 to help fund and open the Specialist Ataxia Centre for Children(!) and the ataxia research programme.

When shall I donate to the campaign?

From 12pm on 3 December until 12pm on 10 December 2019, we will have a matching pot of £34,000. When you give online during these dates, your donation will be doubled! It is really important that you donate to the Big Give during these dates, otherwise your donation will not be doubled!

How do I donate?

From 12pm on 3 December until 12pm on 10 December 2019, enter the Big Give website (link) here to donate. If you are a UK taxpayer, please tick the Gift Aid box when you donate online as your donation will be worth 25% more at no extra cost to you. For example, a donation of £100 during the week will be worth an incredible £225 towards reaching our goal of raising £68,000. Alternatively, you can click the big blue ‘donate’ button on this page and donate.

Please note: Unfortunately, this year Ataxia UK will not be allowed to help supporters process donations to the Big Give via telephone.
