In Memory Of
William Derek Main
13 Nov 1956 - 28 Jul 2020
Derek was diagnosed with Idiopathic Cerebellar Ataxia as a young adult, after health problems which began in early childhood. Despite ever increasing mobility problems, which eventually led to a wheelchair, Derek had a natural curiosity and love of travel. He never complained, nor did he allow his illness to define or restrict him, travelling widely from UK to such far flung places as Barbados and China. Derek was very involved in his local Ataxia group and was keen to do what he could, in order to further research into the devastating illness. Derek always had a smile on his face, a welcome at his door, and the kindest of hearts for all. He will be so sadly missed by his family and friends.
