Grab your friends, family, colleagues and sports team & head to your lovely local for a Christmas Pub Quiz in support of Ataxia UK!

How to organise a pub quiz
- Fill in our sign up form below!
- Approach your local pub and ask them if they would be happy to host a charity Christmas pub quiz for one weekday evening. (They are more likely to say yes to a night when the pub is usually quieter.)
- Agree with the pub that all of the proceeds from entering the quiz will go to Ataxia UK and all takings on the bar will be kept by the pub. Find out the pub’s maximum capacity & choose a quiz master!
- Choose your entry price, we recommend £5 entry per person or £25 for a team of 5.
- Approach your employer and local businesses to ask them to kindly provide prizes for the quiz. Of course include some Ataxia UK merch prizes too! Tesco have local Charity Champion stores all over the UK so write to your local Charity Champion Tesco store to say you are holding a charity event, and ask if they can support you with prizes? Tesco usually allow you to choose prizes up to £50.
- Food incentive: the pub might be happy to offer a hot meal for £5 during the quiz night. This is a great piece of promotional activity!
- Questions: you can choose how many questions, depending on the time and the amount of people taking part. We recommend: 4 rounds with 10-15 questions. There are loads of resources online where you can find great Christmas quiz suggestions. Just type 'Christmas Quiz Questions' in your search bar.
- Get each team to come up with a fun, Christmas themed name.
- Have a break between each round. The breaks are great opportunities to talk about Ataxia UK’s work.
- Raffles are an easy way to add extra value to your evening. Ask a few local businesses or your company if they will donate a prize in return for a mention on the night. You can set a price for the cost of a ticket, with the money raised going to Ataxia UK. We suggest £2 a ticket.
- Ataxia UK Shout Outs: Lastly, at the start of the night, at any break rounds and at the end, explain why you have chosen to fundraise for Ataxia UK! This not only helps your fundraising, it also helps to raise awareness about ataxia and could inspire others to fundraise!

Materials needed for a pub quiz
- Pens (Ataxia UK pens!)
- Paper
- Ensure that the pub has a microphone system that you can use
- Ataxia UK t-shirt for you as the organiser and for the quiz master
- Banners to loan
- Balloons
- Poster
- AUK flyers
- Prizes for the winners & the raffle if you choose to do a raffle
- `You can buy Ataxia UK merchandise to sell at your event!
How to engage people/ promote the fundraiser?
- Share on social media / create a facebook group and invite all your contacts and ask them to invite all of their contacts to the group
- Speak to your colleagues / friends / family
- Contact local newspapers and radio stations
- We will share your event with our supporters who live locally to your pub quiz location
