This page was built as a legacy to the success of the 2023 Virtual Art Exhibition 'Through My Gaze'.

The Artists:

We exhibited artists from professional backgrounds, hobbyists and those with ataxia.

It was vital we involved the ataxia community in the project and opened the exhibit to all abilities, making it a highly inclusive event.

The exhibited art consisted of; prints, paintings, poems, digital art, charcoal, watercolours and photography.

Our artists had exhibited internationally and undergone professional training in the arts, including:

  • University of Wales’s Photography in The Arts, St Andrews studying Art History, Victoria hall art gallery 
  • MA at the Royal College of Art, of Art.  
  • New York and London working in printed textiles and had the opportunity to travel and work with studios in Europe and the US. Clients include: BBC Worldwide – childrens illustration Dressmith Womenswear – fashion illustration Woven Agency - fashion illustration Dragana Perisic - fashion illustration Cookschool – cookery illustrations Iota - fashion illustration Mademoiselle Mojo - fashion illustration The New Art Rebellion Artforcure exhibition 2022 North19TV Productions – illustrations for documentary FIDA – shortlist 2019 
  •  Charles Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy. 
  • A book publisher (Mica Press and Campanula Books), and a member of Wivenhoe Printworks printmakers workshop.  
  • Royal Drawing School in 2017. Young Artist Award from the Royal Watercolour Society. She has exhibited her paintings with Guts Gallery, Kris Day’s Papercuts at The Saatchi Gallery, The London Art Fair (represented by The Nunnery Gallery) 

Amount raised and art exhibited:

We were astounded to have 39 artists wish to contribute to the exhibit this year.

We sold 23 works and fundraised £1,644.

How we did it:

We advertised the event to both artists and buyers.

After receiving submissions we would upload the art anonymously to our online gallery. Each artwork was listed at £70.

Once the art was bought, the identity of the Artist would be revealed to the buyer.
