Sign up to raise awareness with our Two Steps Towards Ataxia Diagnosis campaign
Thank you so much for expressing interest in taking part in this year's International Ataxia Awareness Day campaign.
Following last year's success, we've decided to repeat the two easy steps to help raise awareness of the struggle people with ataxia experience before receiving a diagnosis.
Due to its rare nature, many medical professionals are unaware of what ataxia is and how to treat it. The Medical Guidelines, created by Ataxia UK and neurologists, aims to provide recommendations for healthcare professionals on the diagnosis and management of people with progressive ataxia.
So, what are these two steps?
- Sign up for the challenge, using the below form, and we will send you an information pack with the medical guidelines.
- Get sponsored to walk, wheel, run or simply cover the distance with family and friends, or fly solo, to your local GP surgery around 25th September and give, or email them the Medical Guidelines. Please note – International Ataxia Awareness Day falls on Sunday this year. We advise to plan your walk for a weekday.
That's it!
By taking part, you are helping towards speedier diagnosis and better healthcare for those in the ataxia community. Please provide us with your details below and we'll be in touch with further details and your fundraising pack!
