After weeks of preparation, planning and anticipation, the City Bridges Walk was finally upon us…and what a day we had!
We certainly made an impression as over 100 people took part in two walks across some of London’s most iconic Bridges. Passing Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament and The Tower of London to name just of few of the landmarks we passed, our matching T-shirts were a sight to be seen.
As we gave leaflets out along the way, we were pleasantly surprised this morning when we received a call in the office form a lady whose husband had ataxia. She had taken a leaflet and decided to look into the charity, having never heard of our work, her husband has now become a Friend of the charity. He has had ataxia for 20 years without ever knowing of Ataxia UK and because of our walk, he is now able to access all the support and information available to him from Ataxia UK!
It was great to have so much support on the day from all generations!
So far our fundraisers have raised an outstanding £11,000 and donations continue to come in!
All week in the office we had been praying for no rain on Sunday…and to be blessed with such a beautiful Autumn day was the icing on the cake!
Thank you to all who took part, we hope you enjoyed the day.
It is yet another step towards finding a cure!
